Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Ferreri called this his most feminist film, arguing it exposes how women are trained to serve—a take that remains deeply controversial.
The dog was played by a trained animal actor; Deneuve insisted on doing her own 'dog' movements without stand-ins, leading to a notoriously difficult shoot.
