Overview

ComedyDrama

Pierre, a young man in his thirties, grew up with his two brothers in a city in the suburbs of Paris. He still lives there today with his wife, Deborah. Deep Dive

Trivia, insights & behind the scenes

Trivia

This was Jean-François Richet's feature debut, shot on a shoestring in his actual suburban neighborhood before he'd direct Mesrine and the Assault on Precinct 13 remake.

Cultural

Released during France's post-Mitterrand malaise, it captures the 'banlieue' before La Haine made it globally famous—less explosive, more suffocating.
