Overview

ComedyFantasy

Filippo is a star on the Italian TV. He works for a documentary series about wild animals and nature. He is sent to Tenerife (Spain) to shot an issue about the local stork. It is the 13th of August. After he did his job is time to leave, but the ferry couldn't operate. He has to spend the night in the island. Standout Aspects

Acting

Albanese's committed buffoonery sells the unlikable protagonist.

Writing

Loops escalate absurdly without repeating the same joke twice.

Best for:Solo: When you want existential dread with your Aperol spritz.·Date Night: Test if they laugh at selfish men getting cosmic comeuppance.·Rewatch: Spot what Filippo *still* refuses to learn each loop.

Trivia, insights & behind the scenes

Cultural

Part of a weird 2000s European micro-genre: Italy made this, France had 'Le Jour de la Marmotte,' all chasing Groundhog Day's shadow.

Insight

The 13th of August setting is Ferragosto—Italy's biggest summer holiday, when everything shuts down. Filippo's trapped on a day literally designed for doing nothing.
