Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
This was Christian Clavier's first major film role before he became a French comedy institution with Les Visiteurs.
The title 'La Course à l'échalote' (literally 'The Shallot Race') is French slang for a wild goose chase — perfectly capturing Jérôme's circular self-sabotage.
