A $2 thrift store photo that could rewrite Wild West history? Kevin Costner narrates the chaos.
In a California memorabilia shop in 2010, collector Randy Guijarro bought a tintype that looked to be a familiar figure, Billy the Kid - playing croquet with his gang known as The Regulators. As the gravity of the discovery began to set in, Guijarro initiated a chain of events that would lead him on a painstaking journey to verify the photograph's authenticity.
Acting
Kevin Costner's gravelly narration treats croquet like Shakespearean tragedy.
Production
Recreation scenes with Jor-el Vaasborg capture outlaw swagger surprisingly well.

Director
Dan Bush
Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
The original tintype was purchased for $2 at a Fresno junk shop alongside a toaster and baseball figurine.
If authenticated, this would be only the second confirmed photo of Billy the Kid—making a $5 million offer actually seem conservative.
