One of the most underrated WWII movies I've ever seen.

I loved this movie when I saw it. And later when I visited Paris I saw those monuments and buildings which might well have been destroyed before I was born

Just chanced upon an old Penguin copy of the book in a charity shop. Never heard of this film before - will certainly be ordering it now.
