Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Carstairs directed this between Norman Wisdom vehicles, and you can feel the same affection for hapless underdogs who refuse to quit.
Dog racing peaked in 1950s Britain as working-class entertainment; this film both satirizes and celebrates that world without condescension.
