Standout Aspects

Acting

Pablo Pineda—first actor with Down's Syndrome to win a San Sebastián award.

Writing

Dialogue that weaponizes sweetness without becoming saccharine.

Direction

Dual directors let scenes breathe, refuse easy resolutions.

Best for:Solo: When you need a good cathartic cry alone.·Date Night: Test if your date can handle emotional depth.·Streaming: Small screen intimacy actually helps here.
Heads up:Sexual Content: Laura's casual hookups portrayed without judgment but on-screen.·Triggers: Brief workplace discrimination, infantilization of disabled adults.

Deep Dive

Trivia, insights & behind the scenes

Cultural

Pablo Pineda has an actual degree in teaching—the film mirrors his life, blurring documentary and fiction in ways Hollywood rarely risks with disabled actors.

Insight

The title 'Yo, También' (Me Too) reclaims a phrase often used to exclude—Daniel demands membership in humanity without qualification, and the film makes you sit with that demand.
