19 minutes of steampunk chaos where the sun itself wants you dead.
It ain't easy being a mercenary on a dead world: a ruined world where the sun blocks everything with it's heat. Sarcastic risk-taker Fray finds herself chased by everyone from underworld thugs to Federal Agents as she leads an expedition out into the sun burned areas of the north where they will learn, that some things are better left unlearned.
Practical Effects
Gnarly sun-scorched landscapes built without CGI.
Production
Insane production value for a 19-minute indie.

Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Director Mikko Löppönen crowdfunded this through Finnish film collectives, shooting the desert scenes in actual summer heat waves.
The film's 'sun as oppressive force' imagery directly references Finnish anxiety about nuclear winter—and its opposite, runaway climate catastrophe.
