Sometime in the future: Amy and Christophe are a couple living in a functional and materialistic world. When their android "daughter" has to be shut down due to technical problems, Amy seeks an unconventional way to overcome her grief. Her husband Christophe promises her a new child. But in a moment of rashness, Amy picks up the human child Sophie from the street, thereby upsetting the strictly segregated social order.
