Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
This adapts Jason Aaron's 2010 'Wolverine: Weapon X' comics run, specifically the Deathlok arc—one of the rare times Marvel animation directly lifted a modern comic storyline rather than mining 80s classics.
Deathlok's design here draws heavily from the 90s iteration, deliberately evoking the peak Saturday-morning-cartoon era that this film's entire aesthetic worships. It's nostalgia as aesthetic choice, not accident.
