Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Markopoulos withdrew all his Greek films from circulation in 1967, making this surviving 'wrong' version a ghost haunting a ghost. The director died believing his true edit was lost forever.
The rose garden central to the film was real — Markopoulos filmed at his own family estate in Annavysos, casting relatives and excavating actual family trauma.
