Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
This film essentially launched Marianne Sägebrecht's international career and helped kickstart 1980s German cinema's 'New Munich' movement alongside Adlon's later Bagdad Café.
Adlon specifically cast Sägebrecht after seeing her in cabaret; he wanted a lead who refused to perform shame about her body, which was radical for 1985.
