Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Vinterviken became a touchstone for discussions about Sweden's unacknowledged racism, with the real bathing location still carrying symbolic weight in Stockholm class dynamics.
Director Harald Hamrell cast actual Stockholm suburb kids as extras, and the racial tension on set reportedly mirrored the script, with some Bromma parents pulling children from scenes.
