Diab was banned from Egyptian military bases, so he built a replica truck in a warehouse and cranked the heat to 110°F. The cast genuinely suffered.
Released months before Egypt's 2016 currency crisis, the film was initially blocked by censors who feared it would 'incite unrest.' It premiered at Cannes instead.
