Standout Aspects

Direction

Klopčič intercuts three timelines like a madman.

Acting

Dravić's Karolina—desire and resignation in every glance.

Best for:Solo: You need uninterrupted focus for this structural weirdness.·Rewatch: Second viewing cracks the magician's code.
Heads up:Sexual Content: Brothel setting with transactional nudity, not titillation.

Trivia, insights & behind the scenes

Cultural

Made during Yugoslavia's 'Black Wave' cinema movement, when state-funded filmmakers got weird with social critique.

Trivia

The actual 1976 Friuli earthquake hit two years after filming—Klopčič's fictional destruction became eerily prophetic.
