Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
The real Brandon Burlsworth's #77 is the only number retired in Arkansas Razorbacks history. The film couldn't use actual NCAA footage, so every game sequence was meticulously recreated with 4,000 local extras.
The Burlsworth Trophy, created after his death, is now awarded annually to the most outstanding college football player who began as a walk-on—essentially making Brandon the patron saint of overlooked athletes everywhere.
