Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Charlton Heston filmed his scenes in severe pain from untreated hip deterioration, which explains his seated villainy. Director Sheldon Lettich previously worked with JCVD on Lionheart and Double Impact.
Released months before 9/11, its terrorist-as-villain plot and Jerusalem setting became accidentally uncomfortable viewing. The film was barely released theatrically in the US, dumping straight to video despite the Heston casting stunt.
