Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Cooper spent six months learning guitar and piano, and lowered his voice an octave to match Jackson's gravel. The 'Shallow' scene was filmed in one take at a real festival.
This was Gaga's first leading film role after years of industry skepticism. Her casting was initially mocked; her Oscar win silenced everyone.

Coincidentally, the original 1937 version (starring Janet Gaynor and Fredric March) of this film is released by MGM's current sister company, United Artists (which produced by Selznick International Pictures, best known for it's famous films, Gone with The Wind (with MGM), Rebecca, Notorious and The Prisoner of Zelda), while Warner Bros. for the remakes of the original 1937 version (including the 1954 version with Judy Garland and James Mason, the 1976 version with Barbara Streisand and Kris Kristopherson and the 2018 version with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper) so that's why MGM/UA and WB produced this 2018 film remake version.
