The diplomat Mahmoud marries the dancer Bamba and she gives birth to a daughter, Laila. His father, Ra'fat Pasha, forces him to divorce her and takes his granddaughter to raise. Bamba becomes a famous dancer, and her home becomes a meeting place for wealthy men including Ra'fat, who falls for her.
