Standout Aspects

Direction

Feuillade builds dread with minimal cuts, maximum menace.

Practical Effects

Real lions in a conservatory — no stunt doubles, no insurance.

Best for:Solo: 13 minutes of escalating dread you won't forget.·Rewatch: Spot Feuillade's mastery of spatial tension.
Heads up:Violence: Animal attack sequences, though silent-era stylized.·Disturbing: Implied servant abuse of animals before the tables turn.
