Fact: This is the first remake of the original 1937 film of the same name originally released by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (United Artists), so this film is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, the company who remade this film many times.

It truly was a massive disappointment for the Academy not to give Judy an Oscar for this performance. There would not be another robbery as big as this one at an awards show until the 2011 Primetime Emmys where Jim Parsons won Best Actor in a Comedy instead of Steve Carrell, who put his heart and soul into his final appearance as Michael Scott on 'The Office'.
