Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
This was Sridevi's final Malayalam film before her Hindi dominance — she reportedly did it for Bharathan's reputation alone.
The film explores Namboothiri Brahmin social hierarchies rarely depicted in mainstream cinema; Arvind Swamy's casting as 'lower' priest caste was quietly controversial.
