Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
This was the fifth Corman-Price Poe film, but the first to be deliberately comedic. The raven doesn't even appear in Poe's poem—Corman just needed a hook.
The final sorcerer duel reportedly left Karloff with a leg injury after a tumble through fake stonework, which he finished filming like the absolute legend he was.
