The only thing dirtier than Naples' streets? A prosecutor's hands when his daughter's heart's on the line.
Demetrio Perez is a tough prosecutor torn between the corruption inherent in his job and the desire to do right by his family. But when opportunity presents itself and his daughter Thea falls in love with a Mafioso’s son, Perez has to cut through the morality of his law-abiding roots and become as dirty as the dangerous criminals he represents.
Acting
Zingaretti's face holds entire seasons of regret in single close-ups.
Cinematography
Naples shot like a character—crumbling, sun-bleached, complicit.

Director
Edoardo De Angelis
Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
De Angelis shot in actual Naples prosecutor offices; the institutional rot you see is documentary-level authentic. The film emerged from Italy's real 'Sistema' trials where justice and organized crime became indistinguishable.
Zingaretti was already famous as Inspector Montalbano—casting him as compromised Perez was deliberate audience subversion. Viewers kept expecting him to solve the case heroically. He absolutely does not.
