Deprived of a normal childhood by her ambitious mother, Lillian Roth becomes a star of Broadway and Hollywood before she is twenty. Shortly before her marriage to her childhood sweetheart, David Tredman, he dies and Lillian takes her first drink of many down the road of becoming an alcoholic.

Susan Hayward is sensational in this. And if you like her as woman in deep conflict, don't miss, SMASH UP, STORY OF A WOMAN, also about alcoholism and equally powerful. AND if you like her with Richard Conte, be sure and see them together in HOUSE OF STRANGERS - totally different character but great. Let's face it, Miss Hayward was something on screen...
