Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
This was Boris Karloff's first British film after Frankenstein made him a star — Gaumont British threw money at him to come home.
The film was lost for decades until a print turned up in Czechoslovakia in 1969; what you see is a reconstruction from that damaged nitrate.
