Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Robinson Stévenin spent time with Brussels sex workers to prepare; the film's producer later called the shoot 'psychologically dangerous for everyone involved.'
Released during Belgium's heated 2001 trans rights debates, the film was simultaneously protested by activists for exploitation and defended for its rare casting of an actual trans woman in a lead—Stévenin's first and last major role.
