Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Sistiaga was a Basque sculptor who'd never made a film before. He hand-painted approximately 10,000 frames using brushes, sponges, and his fingers.
The 'irrintzi' is a traditional Basque high-pitched scream used in celebrations and protests; Achiary's recording connects prehistoric vocal tradition to cosmic exploration.
