It's All Hallow's Eve. A trio of costumed misfits with very special dietary requirements seizes a Mexican cantina and force the staff to engage in a late night of gaming, food and libations. The only caveat is what's on the menu.
Acting
Jimmi Simpson's unhinged Stef steals every scene he's barely in.
Writing
Roday's dialogue crackles with the same banter DNA as Psych.
Production
Single-location tension that makes the cantina feel genuinely claustrophobic.

Director
James Roday Rodriguez
Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Roday wrote the script with Todd Harthan in 2008 but couldn't get financing until Psych ended in 2014. The entire film was shot in 18 days in a repurposed Los Angeles restaurant.
The film premiered at Fantastic Fest 2015 alongside The Witch and Green Room, getting overshadowed despite being the only pure horror-comedy in that legendary lineup. Its 5.4 rating reflects distribution hell more than actual quality.
