Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Stamp and Lambert originally wanted to make a documentary about London's Mod subculture; finding The Who was pure accident. The band became their movie whether the band liked it or not.
Lambert—posh, queer, classically educated—and Stamp—working class, street smart, chaotic—mirrored the very British class tensions The Who would eventually explode in their music.
