Trivia, insights & behind the scenes

Trivia

William 'One Shot' Beaudine directed this in literal days; he made over 350 films and reportedly never did a second take if he could help it.

Cultural

The 'clipper ship thriller' briefly obsessed 1940s programmers after Pan Am's real Pacific crossings made headlines—this cashed in cheap and fast.
