Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Rühmann was Nazi Germany's most popular comedian, yet this pre-1935 film captures Weimar-era playfulness before state-controlled cinema took over.
The 'Primaner' (top-grade student) disguise became Rühmann's signature; he reprised similar roles throughout his career, making this the template.
