OMG!! We, the Rockaway Theatre Company, here at by the beach and Atlantic shore, at the edge of New York City, are right now doing "Shakespeare in Hollywood" ! It's a screwball comedy take by Ken Ludwig based on the crazy ups/downs in and outs of the production of this film, the stretches it one step further by asking 'What If?" As in 'What if two of the otherwordlycharacters from the play, Puck and Oberon, magically turned up during the movie's filming at Warner Brothers? And everybody thinks they're just eccenntic actors (insert your 'aren't they all?' joke here) and the director hires them to play in the film! It's all intermixed with both real-life characters- James Cagney, Jack Warner, censor Will Hays- and fictional ones, blended into the actual chaotic goings on of shooting director Max Rheinhardt's movie. This film clip was an amazing, wonderful treat and has been shared with all our cast! Thanks!!
