After a car accident, 16-year-old Nikita loses both his hearing and his mother. His father, Dmitry—who survived the crash—is tormented by guilt and becomes overprotective of his son. The teenager plays the drums, feeling the rhythm with his body. A conflict with his father, who dreams of a "normal" life for him, ultimately leads to reconciliation through music.
