Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
This film rode the mid-2000s wave of Chinese blockbusters blending Western sports tropes with wuxia aesthetics, essentially creating 'Shaolin Soccer but make it basketball.'
Jay Chou performed most of his own basketball stunts despite having no formal training, learning basic dribbling skills specifically for the role while already being Taiwan's biggest pop star.
