Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Plastic Little was one of the first anime OVAs to receive a theatrical-style English dub with celebrity casting, though it remains obscure despite Urushihara's fame for Legend of Lemnear and Record of Lodoss War.
The 'pet hunter' premise satirizes 1980s Japanese luxury pet culture, where exotic animals became status symbols for the bubble economy elite—making Tita's job weirdly class-conscious.
