Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
This is a remake of a 1987 Norwegian film that nobody saw; Nispel also directed the 2003 Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake because apparently 'gritty reimaginings' were his entire personality.
The film conflates multiple Indigenous nations into one generic 'Native' culture while historically Vikings never reached the Pacific Northwest—this is basically 'what if cowboys and aliens but make it snowy and pretentious.'
