Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
The VAZ-2101 'Zhiguli' was the Soviet people's car — owning one signaled working-class dignity, making its destruction a symbolic assault on post-Soviet identity itself.
Shkurny represents a specifically Russian influencer archetype: the gopnik-turned-content-creator who monetizes humiliation of the poor. The film asks who the real parasite is.
