Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
Dumble amps appear on records by SRV, Clapton, and Mayer, yet fewer than 300 exist. The scarcity is deliberate — Dumble reportedly screens buyers like a cult leader choosing disciples.
Ben Harper's #002 was built in 1979 when Dumble still signed his work. He stopped after discovering forgeries, making every authenticated amp a forensic exercise.
