Cygnus OB2#12 is an actual hypergiant star—one of the most luminous known. Mardones essentially made a biopic for an object 5,000 light-years away.
The film premiered at a micro-festival in Valparaíso where audiences were handed blindfolds beforehand—then told to remove them. The disorientation was the point.
