The more I’ve learned about Marilyn Monroe, the more I feel for her. Being an icon, and a sexual icon at that, must have been a hard life to live outside of her fame. People see you as that icon, or idea, that image, but not as who you truly are. Too many women must experience that, simply due to the fact that women are perceived - not as intelligent - not as individuals - not as powerful or courageous - but as creatures whose purpose is to please. Rest in Peace Norma Jean, and may our society learn how to see all of humanity, as that. Humans, flaws and all, but always equal in our differences.
