Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
The 'dinosaurs' were iguanas and monitor lizards with fake fins glued on—classic 1950s budget ingenuity. The same technique was used in One Million B.C.
Bernard Herrmann's thundering score was so expensive it nearly got cut; it became one of his most beloved works and arguably saves the film's pacing.
