Trivia, insights & behind the scenes
The 1613 Keichō Embassy was real—Hasekura Tsunenaga actually traveled to Spain and met the Pope, though the musical takes significant 'artistic liberties' with his emotional journey.
Takarazuka performers are all women playing male and female roles; Makaze Suzuho's 'oTOKO' (male role) star status made her whiskey-sipping coolness a signature draw for this production.
